Recent Advances in Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Ozone enhances activation of fibroblast growth factor activation. Potential use in clinic and aesthetic practice.

Stimulated Platelet Factors (PRP) For Rehabilitation and Aesthetic

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is blood plasma that has been enriched with platelets. As a concentrated source of autologous platelets, PRP contains (and releases through degranulation) several different growth factors and other cytokines that stimulate healing of bone and soft tissue.

The activation with Calcium after the pretreatment with high doses of ozone induce the release of variety of factors from alpha granules helpful in stimulate regeneration of new tissues.

The compelling advantages of PRP for bone repair and wound healing and the capacity of ozone to stimulate the release of growth factors is an important point for future research on this topic.

Other than in rehabilitation Ozonated PRP has proven to give excellent results in some aesthetic treatment.
